Beat The Clock Ideas for Wednesday, June 29th

  1. Face the cookie: Move the cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hand. We had cookies the other day at game day. Do we still have some cookies, and are they fresh? If not, we need some more cookies for this.
  2. Materials needed: Cookies – suggest Oreos
  3. Defying gravity: Contestants must keep three balloons in the air (for the full 60 seconds).
  4. Materials needed: Balloons
  5. Go the Distance: Three shot glasses are on top of the three pedestals positioned 5, 6, and 7 feet from the designated start zone. The contestant is given a tape measure and a bucket of ping pong balls and using only the tape measure, must place one ball into each of the shot glasses. Materials needed: ping pong balls, shot glasses, and tape measures
  6. Bobble Head: A pedometer is attached to the head and contestant must move their head to rack up a total of 125 “steps” to complete the game. Materials needed: a pedometer.
  7. By a thread: Using only one hand contestant must run a thread .through the eye of 10 needles. Materials needed: Needles and thread
  8. Paper Dragon: Contestant must unspool two rolls of party streamers using only their hands and arms. Materials needed: Rolls of Party streamers (I think they are cheap at the dollar store).
  9. Nose dive: Contestant must transfer five cotton balls, one at a time, from one serving bowl to another 12” away using only the nose. Vaseline on the tip of the contestant’s nose is using as a transfer agent. Materials needed: Cotton balls, serving bowls, Vaseline.
  10. Paper Scraper: Contestant has to build a tower of index cards that is 10 levels high. Each level consists of two pre-bent cards with a flat card on top. Materials needed: Index cards (some pre-bent). I can bring these from home.
  11. Rapid Fire: Contestant using only their hands must shoot rubber bands to knock a pyramid of six soda cans completely off a platform eight feet away. Materials needed: Six empty soda cans and lots of rubber bands.
  12. This Blows: Contestant must use a balloon to knock cups off a table. The contestant will repeatedly blow up a balloon then blow the air out of to propel the cups off of the table. All the cups must be completely off the table to complete the game. Materials needed: Plastic party cups and balloons. The video shows about 14 cups per game.
  13. Moving’ on Up: Contestant is given a stack of 490 blue plastic cups and races to move their on red-bottom cup through the entire stack. Contestant does to by holding the stack in their hands and one-by-one continuously moving a cup from the top to the bottom. Materials needed: 49 blue plastic cups and 1 red plastic cup.
  14. Wheel of a Deal: Wheel of a Deal requires five small tables set in a circle and a table in the center. On the center table spread out 4 of each: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10 from a deck of cards face down. The object of the game is to sort of separate 20 of the cards into 5 piles, each with the like cards on a different table. All of the aces on one table, the kinds on the other and so on. This a great game for all ages and can be adjusted in number of cards. Or sets for younger children. Materials needed: A deck of cards (or two if more than one game). Since we don’t have two small tables, then we could use chairs for the places to sort to.
  15. Elephant march: Eight unopened water bottles are placed in two parallel rows on the ground, precisely eight feet apart. The contestant must wear a standard pair of pantyhose over the head, with a baseball placed inside the end of the one leg. Keeping one foot on each side of the centerline. The contestant must swing back and forth using the momentum of the baseball to knock down all eight bottles. Materials needed: Pair of pantyhose, a baseball, and eight unopened water bottles.
  16. Suck it Up: Four straws are placed vertically on a stand. Using only a straw in the mouth, the contestant uses suction to pick up one of the M&M’s brand chocolate candies from a bowl, transfer it six feet, and balance it atop one of the vertical straws. Contest must get one of the M&Ms onto each vertical straws. Materials needed: Straws, M&M candies, and maybe some clay or something to hold the vertical straws in position.
  17. Stick the Landing: The contestant must toss water bottles onto a table and get them to land upright. The contestant will have 10 water bottles and from a distance of five feet, they will throw one at a time onto a table. Three bottles must be standing upright in 60 seconds to complete the game. Materials needed: Water bottles.
